The one thing about the early Church on The Porch was that they were steeped in the Word of God through their relationship with the Living Word of God, Yeshua/Jesus. In a day and age when society rushes to hear what celebrities, athletes and politicians think why don't we rush to hear what the greatest "celebrity" of them all thinks? The only place to find out what He thinks is in The Bible and the only way to know what He thinks is by deep, personal prayer & study. Would you be willing to spend that kind of time with Him to learn all about Him? The early church did. In Acts Chapter 20 the Apostle Paul was teaching all day and late into the night. A young man named Eutychus was sitting on a window ledge. They had been there so long he fell asleep and fell out the third story window to his death. That's commitment to the word!!! Did Paul panic? No. He had been teaching the word all day and night and was literally full of it. He simply went down to the ground, embraced the dead man and rose him from the dead. Then he continued with them until daybreak before leaving. Oh, to have the kind of commitment today. Instead, if the service goes past 90 minutes there is a complaint and who needs long hours of teaching when we can put in a DVD or CD-ROM. A fast food society has obtained for itself a fast food church. "I'll take a New Testament Number 4 with an extra large blessing and some hot Holy Spirit" Well, for those who are hungrier for more of the Lord and His Word, we will be putting lessons, testimonies and revelations on this page. Feel free to study them, distribute them and praise God for them. However, please do not "borrow" from them without giving due credit for the source of the material.
